Based in Santiago de Compostela, Gonzalo Bayolo brings together respect for tradition and an innovative spirit into the instrument making process. Led by a deep knowledge of the science and history of his trade, he imbues his creations with dynamism and an original interpretation, granting them a unique character. He also works widely as a restorer, holding a "Hans Weishaar" certificate.

He actively participates in the internationally renowned Oberlin Violin Making Workshop (Violin Society of America, United States), a meeting point for like-minded professionals seeking to share ideas and experiences. One of the highlights at Oberlin is the collaborative making of replicas from Cremonese originals available at the workshop.

He has taken part in international exhibitions such as "Galerie Internationale de Lutherie Contemporaine" (Toulouse, France), "Salon de la Musique Classique Musicora" (Paris, France), "VioloncellenSeine" (Paris, France), "Exposition of Instruments Contemporains de Montpellier" (Montpellier, France), "Exposition d'Archéterie et de Lutherie Contemporaines" (Brussels, Belgium), “Violin Society of America Conventions” and exhibitions of the "Guild of Luthiers of Spain".

He also regularly enters the most prestigious and internationally influential competitions, like "Triennale Internazionale degli Strumenti ad Arco Antonio Stradivari di Cremona" (Cremona, Italy), "Internationaler Geingenbauwettbewerb de Mittenwald" (Mittenwald, Germany), "International Henryk Wieniawski Violin Making Competition" (Poznan, Poland), "VSA International Competition" (United States) or “Concours Etienne Vatelot” (París, France).
